
The Brooklyn Nets announced today their superstar Kevin Durant has been diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. He is out indefinitely. The 11-time All Star got injured in the second quarter of Saturday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans.

He had 12 points in 12 minutes, went back to the locker room with a limp and didn’t return to the floor. Durant’s teammate Bruce Brown collided with Herbert Jones and fell backwards, bumping into Durant’s knee.
Following an MRI this morning, Kevin Durant was diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral of the left knee. Durant is expected to return to full strength following a period of rehabilitation. Updates regarding his return will be provided as appropriate.

Sources revealed ESPN there’s “optimism” within the Nets organization that Durant will come back after a 4 to 6-week period of rehabilitation.
It was the Nets’ fourth game in five days. Durant sat out to rest during Thursday night’s loss to the Thunder and he was back in the lineup on Saturday.

The 6’10’’ small forward is averaging 29.7 points , 7.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists this season.
