On June 8, The Night of Kick and Punch 16 – Black Tie Edition 3 will be held at the amazing Reggia di Venaria (Royal Palace), in Venaria Reale, close to Turin in North Western Italy.
K1 rules
In this kickboxing gala, most fights will be under K-1 rules: Punches, kicks and knees.
The event
Promoted by Angelo Valente, in collaboration with Michele Briamonte’s Sap Fighting Style, The Night of Kick and Punch 16 will be an invitation only event: Guests will have an aperitivo (late afternoon Italian ritual: Usually sparkling white wine or a cocktail with small pieces of bread topped with Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma or other Italian products appreciated internationally) in the beautiful garden of the Royal Palace and then enjoy the fights inside the building while eating a 5-star dinner sitting at an elegant table in the Citroniera hall, projected by famous Italian architect Filippo Juvarra and built between 1722 and 1727.
Highlights
One of the most important fights will be the final of the 70 kg (154 pounds) tournament between Carlos Barbosa (Spain) and Amin Ettayeb on the 3-round distance.
The semifinals were held last March 2nd in Milano: Carlos Barbosa defeated Francesco Maggio in 2 rounds after an incredibly spectacular fight while Amin Ettayeb beat Sheriff Konteh on points.
“Barbosa-Maggio was an unbelievable fight and we think that Barbosa-Ettayeb will be equally spectacular – Angelo Valente said – and that’s why we are promoting it at the Reggia di Venaria. We’ll offer other kickboxing fights involving former Wako-Pro World featherweight champion Luca Grusovin, Lorenzo Malinverno, Lorenzo Del Gaudio and Shakib El Kadimi. We’ll also have a muay thai fight with superstar Amro Ghanem. We are dealing with former Wako-Pro World super welterweight champion Georgian Cimpeanu. We’ll announce the card in a couple of weeks. I want to thank Michele Briamonte for making this event possible. A location like the Reggia di Venaria is what makes the difference between this event and any other event, is what makes it interesting for the media, is what attracts entrepreneurs who could invest in the sport. Kickboxing in Italy is thriving more than ever.”
Entertainment
Between fights there will be performances by different kinds of artists. In the previous Black Tie Editions at the Reggia, the spectators watched dancers, acrobats, violin players and other performers who made the Night of Kick and Punch even more unforgettable. In Italy, most kickboxing and boxing shows offer only the fights. The Night of Kick and Punch offers a combination of sport and entertainment for everybody.
