The Los Angeles Lakers went down in history as the first team to ever win the NBA Cup in the final of the In-Season Tournament.
LeBron James added another award to his palmarès. A four-time NBA champion and MVP, a 19-time-All-Star and the league’s all-time leading scorer, James was named MVP of the first edition of the In-Season Tournament, inspired to the British FA cup and to other soccer and basketball tournaments.

Anthony Davis dominated the final against the Indiana Pacers with 41 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks, while 38-year-old LeBron closed the game with 24 points. The Lakers won 123-109 in a matchup dominated by experience and consolidated talent. Every player in the Laker roster won a 500k award. “The first question my teammates asked me was ‘when do we get the money?’ LeBron said right after the conclusion of the championship game in Las Vegas, Nevada.
